Leveling System


Expressions Fitness Leveling Safety System:


Level 1:   Level 1 consists of all beginner upright movements.  This level is designed so individuals who prefer can enjoy pole fitness upright.   There are a wide variety of very safe, beautiful upright sits and crucifixes included.   Pole art is beautiful at all levels, and all abilities can enjoy creating beautiful pole art. 

Level 2:  Inverting in class is optional at this level.  The lessons are mostly all fundamental, upright movements.  There are a wide variety of climbs, sits, and spins to learn as well.   

Level 3:  Inverting safely and consistently without assistance is a requirement for this level.   Level 3 classes include all the basic inverted movement concepts.   Pole knowledge builds and there are a lot of fundamental concepts to learn upside down in addition to continuing to learn beautiful upright shapes. 

Levels 4-6:  Pole skill grows when muscle memory has developed.  Learning the difficult tricks included in level 4 requires level 3 skills etc.  Pole can be extremely safe if skills develop in order.  Because there are a wide variety of skill sets, it is possible to be at different levels in different skill areas.  The leveling system makes this situation of excelling in personal areas of expertise easier.  Attendees should have at least 60-70% of the previous level list covered and some specific areas mastered before moving to the next level.    

Levels + vs. Specified level classes:   If you sign up for a level + class, you’re signing up to work on the skill sets at that level or higher up to the highest level.  For specified level classes, the class content only includes that level’s skills.   For example, a level 1&2 class content is limited to level 1&2 moves on the move checklists

Students new to pole should start with a level 1, level 1+, or Level 1&2 as their first class, please.  Thank you for understanding that your health and safety is the most important concern.

Returning students or pole enthusiasts new to Expressions Fitness can contact us regarding your pole experience or pick a level 1, 2, or 3 class based on your inverting experience.   Please remember that safety is always the biggest concern so it is preferred that you error side of caution.  

**Important** Expressions Fitness is a fitness, dance, art facility, NOT a medical facility.  If you have medical concerns or questions please contact your doctor.  All students are accepted!!!  You and your doctor are responsible for health concerns.  If you choose to tell us your health concerns and doctor’s recommendations, we will do our best to assist with alternatives and modifications, if possible.   However, YOU oversee your restrictions and your health.    Thank you.
